Gunsmith Clothing is a lifestyle brand that aims to make a name in the fitness apparel industry. Their motto “Build yourself into the ultimate weapon” has been around since the company’s inception in early 2015. Since then, Gunsmith has been able to use the popularity of fitness clothing to maintain social media accounts with over 107,000 followers. The last time we spoke with Gunsmith Clothing owner Rob Tramonte, he told us all about how his company is working to become a giant in the fitness apparel industry. Now, he is continuing to grow his brand with a large expo event on the horizon and the launch of their latest product line. We were able to catch up with Rob and ask him some more questions about what’s going on with Gunsmith.
Your clothing line recently had a release of new apparel. What are you most excited about with the release?
I’m most excited to have a fresh line of product. New styles, new flavor, new materials. It’s rejuvenating to me when we’re all stocked up and getting ready to showcase it to the world.
Gunsmith is attending the Emerald Cup in Washington for the second time coming up in April. What is the Emerald Cup for people who don’t know?
The Emerald Cup is a fitness show / expo. You’ll see various categories of fitness, from bikini competitors to bodybuilders. It’s also an expo – there will be a ton of booths where you can purchase clothes, test out supplement samples (which is always fun), meet people and more.
What are you most looking forward to at the E cup?
A few things come to mind. Last year we set up a booth at the Emerald Cup, which was actually our first booth ever, and we KILLED it. We had the music bumpin’, people working at other booths were visiting ours, but most importantly the people attending the E Cup got to learn about our company and our positive message. It was a great experience and we’re all excited for this year’s to say the least, I think it’s going to be huge.
You’ve maintained a 5 star rating on your Facebook page. What goes into your customer service and product that makes it such well reviewed product?
Putting forth an honest effort to help and care for people, especially those willing to care enough about you to purchase your product and support you and your vision. We always make sure to go above and beyond to make sure all of our supporters are stoked, and if something comes up, we address it asap and do what it takes to make the situation right. Customer service is something I personally take a lot of pride in and enjoy. I’m also proud to say we’ve never had a bad review since our launch two years ago.
You recently shared a photo of your transformation from 2010 to today losing over 40 pounds. How has your own health journey played into your business?
The biggest factor that goes into succeeding with fitness, business, or really anything in life, is discipline. You need to know when to say yes, when to say no, and to not make decisions based off emotions, which at times can be extremely hard. When you go hard in the gym, eat healthy, and continue to get results on a daily basis, you’ll begin to realize that different aspects of life undergo the same process in theory. The harder you work, the more effort you put in, and the more discipline you stay, the better the outcome will be, no matter what you’re doing.
What motivates you as an athlete and someone in the fitness industry?
Over the past few years, my passion for helping others and giving back has grown immensely. Since our company first began two years ago, I’ve built deep connections with so many people and it all happened organically through having real conversations on social media and more. People bring up issues they’re going through and if I feel as though I can help, I’ll help. Can’t tell you how many people thank me for being there for them, even if it’s just a 5 min conversation. People need to realize that not everyone has a support system in their lives, and if I can invest 5 mins of my day and possibly change someone’s life, I’m all for it.
Every day, the thought of “what will I be remembered for” crosses my mind. Every single day. It drives me to do everything in my power to firmly establish my name in this world — it goes way beyond the fitness industry. I want my legacy to live on forever in a very positive light when I’m gone.
The last time we spoke was in August of 2016. How has your company grown since then?
It grows noticeably more each and every day, and I truly mean that. It’s pretty amazing. Back when we last spoke, our company’s Instagram page @GunsmithClothing was at around 3,000 followers, now it’s at 10,800+, and that’s just one example of our growth. The word is spreading and there’s no slowing down in sight.
Whether or not we’re perceived as a “big time player” comes down to the people’s opinion. I’m not sure if we’re one or not, and I’m not focused on that either. Our only focus is staying true to ourselves and doing what we love. We’ll always be exactly who you see now, regardless of the size of our company. We’re just people who want to live an awesome life, and we want everyone else to live an awesome life as well. That’s what it comes down to at the end of the day. As long as you stay true to yourself, success will follow. #WeAreGunsmith
